Democratic Nominee for Congress, Dr. Cindy Banyai (D-FL19), has been endorsed by twelve organizations over the last few weeks.

Fort Myers, FL - Democratic Nominee for Congress, Dr. Cindy Banyai, has prioritized building a coalition of local leaders and organizations to flip Florida 19 blue. She has recently been endorsed by several organizations, including multiple Florida Democratic Caucuses and environmental and women’s rights organizations. Her recent endorsements show she has the community connections and drive to bring true representation for working families to Florida.

Banyai has been endorsed by the Democratic Progressive Caucus of Florida, Florida’s LGBTQ Democratic Caucus, the Lee County LGBTQA Democratic Caucus, the Democratic Women’s Club of Florida, and the Progressive Club of the Islands. Members of these organizations prioritize progressive values and endorse candidates they believe are ready to work for real change in Florida. While some of these caucuses are issue-oriented, they are actively working to protect the civil rights of all.

The Democratic nominee has made protecting the environment another key piece of her campaign. Her recent endorsements from Votewater.org, the Sunrise Movement, and America Youth Climate Action show that climate experts believe she is up for the task. Banyai has stated she supports the Green New Deal that Sunrise movement is pushing for. The proposed legislation that would hold polluters accountable for their actions while also creating clear Federal guidelines for corporations to reduce their carbon footprint. Banyai also supports incentivizing businesses to make sound short-term and long-term positive environmental decisions. Banyai is ready to fight to protect Florida’s water, health, and community.

Banyai also has the full support of multiple women’s rights groups, most recently endorsed by Florida National Organization for Women (NOW) and Women Under Forty. These organizations are not only working to ensure more women are elected to office but are acting through intersectional grassroots activism. Their goal is to promote feminist ideals, lead societal change, and protect the equal rights of all women and girls in all aspects of social, political, and economic life. Dr. Banyai has promised to be an advocate for women in Congress by incentivizing employers to provide family-friendly workplaces and protecting access to health care for all women’s reproductive health services.

Dr. Cindy Banyai has also been announced as a Florida Endorsement for United Rural Democrats. United Rural Democrats is a coalition to raise awareness of rural issues and help rural Democrats organize to their best capacity. Banyai has been an advocate for rural and community development for 15 years and has helped to raise the voice of rural Democrats through the No Dem Left Behind coalition.

Banyai’s variety of endorsements show she is ready to actively work with other leaders and organizations across the country. Florida 19 has traditionally been a very red district, but the people of Florida are ready for change, and Cindy Banyai is the candidate ready to shake things up in Congress.

Dr. Cindy Banyai is a Democrat running for Florida Congressional District 19, spanning coastal Southwest Florida from Cape Coral to Marco Island.
