Fort Myers, FL - Democratic Nominee for Congress, Dr. Cindy Banyai, and Fort Myers Councilman, Johnny Streets, are joining forces to serve the people of Southwest Florida. These local leaders are excited to work together to help the working people in their communities.

Councilman Johnny Streets is a retired law enforcement officer who served in the City of Fort Myers Police Department for 26 years. He also served as the housing authority leader in Lee County. He is a well-respected member of the Fort Myers City Council and is dedicated to ensuring the council works for all. His record shows he is committed to serving his neighbors and improving the community.

Dr. Cindy Banyai is excited to work with Streets to bring Fort Myers’ concerns to the national level. She has extensive connections in her community as a professor of political science at Florida Gulf Coast University and as the founder of her own small business that works to help non- profits in the area more efficient and effective.

Dr. Banyai and Streets look forward to working together to protect, reform, and serve their communities.

Dr. Cindy Banyai is a Democrat running for Florida Congressional District 19, spanning coastal Southwest Florida from Cape Coral to Marco Island. She is a mom of 3 native Floridians and a small business owner. Dr. Banyai has been a decorated professional in the field of community development for almost 20 years, collaborating with nonprofits around the world on issues such as homelessness, children’s services, education, and sustainable development. Dr. Banyai is fighting for our water, our health, and our community. She is running for Congress to lift the voices of the people to be on the same level as politicians and CEOs and to create a Southwest Florida where the sun shines on everyone.
