Our Community

A Fort Myers Where the Sun Shines on Everyone

Priorities

Community Investments

Working families are struggling with housing,  insurance, and good paying jobs. Public dollars should go to the public good, not private coffers. Our budget reflects our values and we can afford to prioritize people.

Strong Town

Strong towns prioritize walkable communities with organic, local economic development, and an eye on long term infrastructure sustainability.

Clean Water

Florida is growing and for decades we have short changed investments in our infrastructure leading to perennially polluted waters and disasters for homeowners. The city must take responsibility to improve water quality into homes and in the environment.

People First

We need leaders putting people first, not their corporate donors. Legislators should put our community first.

Climate Change Mitigation

Hurricane Ian took a huge toll on our city. We cannot be taken by surprise again. Time to consider the long term future of Fort Myers and what we need to do to protect homes and businesses from storm surge and flooding.

Smart Development

Affordable housing. Complete Streets. Green spaces. We can build and grow smart with room for residents and visitors.

Small Business Support

Rather than chasing outside developers and big business, we must invest in our existing small businesses. 91% of businesses in Southwest Florida are micro-businesses with fewer than 20 employees. These businesses put food on the table for families in our community. Time to put them first.
