2022 Democratic Candidate for US House FL19 celebrates our freedom to have clean water with local environmental activists
Fort Myers, FL – Dr. Cindy Banyai announces her support and participation in Southwest Florida clean water rallies being held Saturday, July 3. Her campaign, along with the Lee Democratic Environmental Caucus and other local advocates are hosting a rally at the Edison Bridge (Fowler Street) from 9:00 – 10:00am on July 3.
“People have the right to clean water. Our local officials like to tell us that everything is fine, but if we look at what has been going on in Matlacha, we can see that is far from the truth.” Dr. Banyai said when asked about her support for the rally.
Dr. Banyai goes on, “We need to be honest about public health risks with harmful algal blooms and invest in the science necessary to understand what affects our water and what we can do to keep it clean. This is what those in our community who support clean water are asking for. Our jobs and our health rely on it!”
In addition to the Edison Bridge rally, there are clean water rallies on the Sanibel Causeway and Matlacha bridge on July 3 from 9:00-10:00 am. There is also a rally on Fort Myers Beach. Matanzas Pass from 3:00-6:00pm. The public is encourage to join in support of our right to clean water.
Dr. Cindy Banyai was the 2020 Democratic Nominee for US House of Representatives Florida 19, spanning coastal Southwest Florida from Cape Coral to Marco Island. She is a teacher and a small business owner. Dr. Banyai has been a decorated professional in the field of community development for almost 20 years, collaborating on issues such as homelessness, workforce, education, and sustainable development. She has also researched and published extensively on good governance around the world. Dr. Banyai is continuing to work for our water, our health, and our jobs. She believes we need to lift the voices of the people to be on the same level as politicians and CEOs and to create a Southwest Florida where the sun shines on everyone.
